Short Description
We seek a driven Robotics Business Development Manager to grow the robotics business across Singapore and Malaysia. This role blends technical sales, business development, and project ownership with a focus on application-led selling, partner ecosystem growth, and service monetization. You will act as a business owner for the territory, driving revenue, strategic accounts, and successful robotics deployments with internal teams and partners.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Planning
- Drive robotics business performance for SG & MY.
- Identify priority industries and applications - SEMI transportation, material handling, and inspection.
- Develop and execute country go-to-market strategies.
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new opportunities by engaging customers with both commercial and technical discussions.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential customers through networking, marketing initiatives, and direct client engagement.
- Maintain awareness of competitor information and participate in industry associations in accordance with company policy.
- Work closely with internal engineering and product management teams to develop proposals to align technical feasibility and customer needs.
- Collaborate with system integrators and OEM partners to deliver integrated and optimized robotics solutions.
Relationship Management & Account Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts in the industrial automation industry, including end-users, channel partners, system integrators, and distributors.
- Engage clients to assess their requirements and identify opportunities.
- Manage vendor and partner relationships to strengthen competitive positioning in robotics and industrial automation markets.
- Take end-to-end ownership of key opportunities, from qualification to deployment.
- Oversee project execution in collaboration with FAEs, service teams, and system integrators.
- Align customer expectations, technical feasibility, and delivery timelines.
- Manage project risks, scope, and commercial outcomes for key projects.
Technical Sales support with CRM
- Work with customers to assess their automation needs, providing technical recommendations and quick testing.
- Collaborate with Application Engineers to ensure smooth project development & implementation, including risk assessment, execution, and alignment.
- Manage and validate sales opportunities using CRM and other systems, ensuring visibility and timely closures.
- Assess and qualify opportunities to align customer needs with Omron’s capabilities.
Performance Reporting and Market Positioning
- Deliver regular performance reports and insights on sales and business development activities.
- Conduct market analysis to refine strategies and increase market share.
- Stay updated on emerging trends, incorporating new technologies into sales strategies.
Job Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Engineering (Mechatronics, Electrical, Robotics)
- 3+ years in technical applications sales (robotics/automation preferred)
- Knowledge of robotics solutions, markets, and applications
- Strong sales, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Able to lead advanced customer discussions
- Willing to travel (50–70%)
- Certifications: FANUC, ABB, Omron, KUKA, Mitsubishi, Yaskawa
- Experience in system integration or OEM environment
- Sales strategy planning and negotiation skills
