Safety Consultant (f/m/d)
you will report to the Business Development Manager and will focus on the DACH region. In this role, you will have the opportunity to combine two core aspects: machinery safety consultancy and local safety service business development and support.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Auditing customer's machinery to assess legal and normative compliance
- Identifying hazards, quantifying and assessing risk levels related to the machine’s use and key phases of its lifecycle
- Proposing practical and safe remedial or corrective actions in compliance with applicable EU Directives and International Safety Standards (ISO and IEC)
- Pro-actively identifying opportunities to visit customers independently or in conjunction with OMRON sales force
- Develop strategic safety business opportunities with the OMRON Industrial Sales Teams
- Identifying client needs and prepare Safety Service proposals to support them, ensuring OMRON best possible positioning amongst competitors
- Generating proposal documents according to provided pricing guidelines, methodology and tools
- Providing training to OMRON customers on machinery safety to help increase their competence
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor/Master’s degree with technical focus / Technician Training
- Minimum of 4 years industrial experience
- Strong commercial skills
- Willingness to travel (30-40%)
- Professional Safety certification (e.g. TÜV) or in preparation to attain such status is a plus
- Work experience in consulting projects for machinery safety
- Work experience and knowledge of applicable EU Directives, and industrial machinery safety standards (EN, ISO, IEC, etc.)
- Electrical/controls background associated with industrial machinery is a plus
- Experience and knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic concepts
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to convert identifiable needs into solutions
- Experience in applying and documenting application machinery safety standards for a variety of manufacturing machinery
- Fluent written and spoken German and English is required and additional languages would be beneficial
