OMRON now searches for an experienced and business driven person covering  Denmark & Norway, responsible for making sure Omron is compliant following Omron strategy of transformation in the region. Omron Management Centre of Europe (OMCE) Finance & Accounting is a multi-functional service provider for business companies within the Omron Group. OMCE works in several countries with various currencies and with customers and clients globally. The OMRON team operates within a well-controlled framework and report to a range of internal and external stakeholders. This position works closely with the local and Regional Nordic Compliance Team members and business managements in Denmark and Norway.

Main responsibility is to ensure that Omron functions in a legal, compliant and ethical manner, mainly focussing on the local and groupFinance and Accounting compliance area

 

About the role

In this role of Senior Accountant you’ll report directly to the Compliance Manager Northern Europe (based in UK) and you’ll be a member of the extended management team. The role will have full responsibility to develop and execute plans for the Denmark & Norway, as part of the European Compliance organisation focussing on Finance and Accounting. The role has no personnel responsibility.

 

The Omron organization encompasses functions like Finance, sales, product and marketing, service, customer services and has a revenue around EURO 60 million annually. The Compliance team Northern Europe are 6 members which direct reports to the Compliance Manager Northern Europe.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Corporate and statutory reporting, review monthly reporting packages and annual reports, audit/CIT processes.
  • Statutory Compliance with Transfer price drafting, VAT Intrastat & EC Sales reporting.
  • Finance Control, review Trial Balance and corrections, preparation of journal entry vouchers for accruals, payroll entries & payroll checking.
  • Accounting Operations support, reviewing invoices (approval flow) for sensibility, corrections & VAT.
  • Approving new vendor forms, contacting suppliers in case of lost or erroneous invoices, approving customer returns initiated by credit controller, creating instructions for the team in NL.
  • Business Company support, a member of management team in Denmark & Norway, Transfer Pricing forecasts, Cash flow. Support in budget processes.
  • Annual risk review, updating business continuity plan, Governance Score Card, BOD & shareholder meeting, Support in CSA process (JSOX) and in Internal Audits, provide statistics to local business organizations and banks, collecting documents and preparing answers for questions on sales related matters, Know-your-customer queries, archiving.

 

Your typical peer groups are; Compliance Managers in other European countries, HQ Financial Control center, Credit Management, Treasury, Business managers and Accounting Operations Center in The Netherlands.

 

Your qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration or equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Danish, Norwegian.
  • Minimal 7-10 years of business experience in the field of Finance and Accounting compliance work.
  • You are Structured, analytical business and decision approach on operational and strategic level. Able to plan and finetune effective processes.
  • Able to keep focus on short/long term goals.
  • You have self-motivation and the ability to work independently. Hands on mentality and high motivation to deliver results.
  • Good interpersonal and responsive customer service skills.
  • You have an eye to details and is very disciplined. Ability to sort and create structure, being pro-active with a pragmatic and “service-minded approach”.
  • Open personality, excellent communication skills and high motivation to cooperate with all hierarchy levels of the organization, acting through different business functions.
  • Create clarity and understanding of Way of Working and securing static legal compliances are met.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience.
