About you

We are looking for a highly motivated Business Controller EMEA to join our EMEA HQ finance team based in Hoofddorp. You will be passionate about driving financial target achievements, improving profitability and finding efficiencies. You have a hands-on attitude and are comfortable handling the details whilst also keeping the bigger picture in view.

Your role

As Business Controller EMEA you are the financial sparring partner for regions and/or business lines. You provide financial insights to facilitate and impact our strategy implementation, decision-making, and pro-actively identify trends, opportunities and risks. You will contribute to the company’s performance with the aim of optimizing the annual, mid and long-term revenue growth and profitability, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, company rules and principles.  

Key Activities

• Responsible for preparation of monthly financial reporting & analysis, forecasting and budgeting for the assigned region or line of business.
• Monthly recommendation on financial target achievements including 'to go analysis'. Present key findings by product, market deviations and recommendations.
• Advise management from a business control perspective. Analyze profitability across product group, customer and region. Manage profitability improvement projects such as portfolio rationalization, cost control, price increases etc.
• Ensure compliance to company policies and procedures (internal and external audits) and JSOX requirements.
• Drive efficient working capital management and cost control, including investments in innovation and marketing, to fuel sales growth (ROI approach, Cash Flow).
• Assist in any other finance and accounting tasks, when required, such as consolidation and reporting to Omron Headquarters.
• Actively involve stakeholders throughout the business to ensure financial management responsibilities are understood and financial goals are exceeded.
• Join monthly closing and business review meetings, working on business cases and analyze ROI

The ideal candidate would have:

• A relevant bachelor’s degree, e.g., in accounting or control.
• At least 4-7 years’ work experience in an international commercial environment.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel (advanced user).
• Knowledge of relevant ERP systems (preferably JD Edwards, but this is not essential).
• Proficient in the English language, both written and verbal.
• Effective and direct communication skills.
• Self-starter with a proven track record of taking initiative.
• Strong analytical thinking.
• Flexible, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work in a matrix organization.
• Experience with business intelligence software Tableau (or similar) is desirable but not essential.
• Continuous improvement mentality.
