Purpose of the role
As an integral part of the Business Control team, you will be considered as one of the navigators of the business, supporting the business control activities and providing insightful analysis of the financial and management results of the Omron Electronic Components Europe business within the applicable guidelines and procedures and ensuring accounting and legal compliance.
Your actions will help to generate and create value, sales growth and improve the profitability of the business and establish ways to execute and control costs effectively.
You will support and act as a financial business partner to various internal and external stakeholders on a wide range of projects and ad hoc operational issues including support for and critical assessment of decision making and business improvement initiatives.
This position reports to the Business Controller .
Summary Of Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide accurate and timely reporting on financial and management results (actual, budget & forecast) in order to deliver clear, concise and insightful information to Management, resulting in tangible actions.
• Maintain and develop reports and procedures to facilitate accountability and compliance.
• Interpret financial transactions and management information for users who must make economic or business decisions.
• Support & implement robust budget & forecasting processes (mid-term & business planning) and execute budgetary control, ensure proper PDCA cycle on business results
• Support the analysis on profitability across product groups, customers, and region. Support on profitability improvement projects such as portfolio rationalization, cost control, price increases etc.
• Ensure and help with the implementation and compliance of the company, governance & compliance framework (J-SOX requirements, OGR self-assessment, SLA & Risk management)
• Join monthly closing and business review meetings, work on business cases and help analyze ROI / ROMI calculations.
• Support KPI setting and monitoring and provide proposals for corrective action
• Provide ad hoc business analysis to support business decisions.
• Act as an integral member of the Business Control team providing financial expertise on a pro-active basis to the relevant stakeholders.
Required Education, Specific Knowledge, Skills And Experience
• Bachelor, Finance related
• Studying towards CIMA or ACCA certification (is preferred)
• 3+ years of relevant experience Management Accounting area and experience in a multinational (operational) environment in a Financial Control / Business Control function
• Familiar with ERP software is a must, and experience with implementation of ERP software and specifically JDE / Cognos is a plus.
• Excellent financial reporting skills
• Good knowledge of business and operational processes
• Proactive, customer-oriented, result driven, quality-minded and cost awareness is a must
• Ability to prioritize and work under pressure
• Ability to effectively interface, operate and switch between various management and operation levels, both internal and external.
• Strong analytical skills in the financial and organizational area
• Open mind and positive, accurate, analytical, structured, able to maintain overview, assess priorities and deliver tangible results
• Excellent communication skills across all levels.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Good intercultural awareness.
