Supplier Quality Engineer

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you ensure high-quality parts from suppliers by leading Supplier Process Development and balancing quality management with engineering. You collaborate closely with R&D and Purchasing when sourcing new suppliers, focusing on manufacturability, supplier processes, and quality requirements. Your responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Support the factory in delivering high-quality parts and preventing disruptions by managing escalated material issues and initiating improvements.
  • Conduct supplier audits (management system, production process, chemical & environmental) and ensure follow-up on action plans.
  • Define material and supplier requirements with R&D and Purchasing for new product introductions (NPI) and engineering changes (ECP).
  • Set up and monitor incoming inspections, analyze supplier KPI trends (PPM, material complaints), and propose improvements.
  • Establish standards for material specifications and approve supplier production processes based on project needs.
  • Perform internal audits (ISO9001), coordinate Omron’s Quality Management System, and update process documents.

Who are you?

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree (HBO), for example in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • With 5+ years of experience, you are familiar with various production and outsourcing processes, including machining, casting, molding, coating, assembly, and SMD.
  • You have knowledge of Supplier Process Release (e.g., PPAP) and quality tools (8D, SPC).
  • You are quality-focused with a positive-critical mindset and strong communication skills.
  • You can convey tough messages to suppliers while maintaining a cooperative approach with stakeholders.
  • You are proficient in Dutch (B2-level) and English, with the ability to communicate across all levels.
