As a Strategic Purchaser, you are part of the Purchasing Department of the Industrial Automation Business (IAB) in Europe. You will be responsible for the ‘end-to-end’ management of your categories, from strategy development, contracting to implementation and assuring supply. As supply account manager you are the interface between OMRON and your suppliers. You will be contributing to best-in-class material management when it comes to quality, cost, delivery and servicing the OMRON customers. In this role, it is crucial to have the ability and the energy to drive change within internal and external stakeholders.

As a Strategic Purchaser, you are part of the Purchasing Department of the Industrial Automation Business (IAB) in Europe. Your responsibilities will be as follows:

• Developing and maintaining your component portfolio to achieve the Purchasing KPI’s on short and long term;
• Managing your categories suppliers in all aspects of their cooperation with OMRON;
• Being supplier account manager for the OMRON Purchasing Organization in China and a critical business partner for the manufacturing in the Netherlands.
• Developing, supporting, and coordinating New Product Introductions (NPI’s);
• Supporting the daily operations while cooperating with internal stakeholders from Quality, Product Management, Supply Chain, Services and Warehousing/Shipping;
• Supporting the Purchasing Department in its development towards the future.

Who are you?

• You hold a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or similar; 
• With 5+ years of experience in a tactical/strategic purchasing role, you are familiar with end-to-end category management (from strategic to tactical to implementation stage);
• You have strong analytical skills and previous experience in negotiations that led to strong commitment and partnership across internal and external stakeholders;
• You have experience with direct management of supplies and suppliers in/from China, therefore proficiency in Mandarin is a plus;
• ERP systems, contract management, category management and purchasing project management is nothing new to you;
• You are proficient in English, Dutch is a plus.
